Am I a Husband Who Is a Blessing to My Wife?

Am I a Husband Who Is a Blessing to My Wife?

“It’s such a blessing to have you as my wife ,” said a wife to her husband. As husbands we deeply long to hear those words. That praise seems to lift us high above the clouds. If our wives praise us like that, how happy we would be.

The question is, how often do we receive that praise from our wives ? Or is it the opposite, that they do not feel that we are a blessing to them? When a Wife Feels Disappointed Menjadi-GKDI-1

Once my wife said, “I’m disappointed in you.” I immediately felt sad when I heard it. From feeling completely right, I became deeply guilty before her.

Because I am unwilling to patiently listen, I often misunderstand my wife’s. When my wife shares her feelings and thoughts, I overreact. I feel attacked and blamed by her. As a result, I accuse her in return. I rush to negative conclusions and assumptions.

In the end, my wife apologized to me. But I responded sharply instead, then shut myself in the bedroom. I did not say a single word. I gave her the silent treatment in response to everything she said and asked. As a result, my wife felt disappointed in me. To her, the image of a mature husband had vanished, replaced by a little child who would not forgive.

A question arose in my mind. Am I really a husband who disappoints? Because from what happened, I had not yet become a blessing to my wife .

A Husband Who Is a Blessing to His Wife

In what way are we not a blessing to our wives? When we are unable to show maturity and responsibility.

What kind of husband does awife want? One who sulks unpredictably, is easily hurt, and throws off responsibility? Or a husband

who is mature, responsible, and able to love?

Therefore, let us change together. How can we become a blessing to our life partner?

1. A Husband Who Loves God When a husband loves God, we will also be able to love ourwives

. Our love for God will influence the way we live, including how we treat our spouse.. Mark 12:30

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. Let us make the verse above our conviction. Loving and putting God first must be the highest priority in our daily lives. As we persevere in prayer, read His Word, love Him and others, our love for our wives

will surely grow. It is truly a blessing for awife

if her husband is someone who genuinely loves God.

2. A Husband Who Forgives How often have we felt annoyed by ourwife’s mistakes? Perhaps we have even almost felt hopeless in facing them. At times, this thought may even arise:

why did I marry her? Are the attitude and thoughts above right? We certainly need to remember that it is impossible that we once chose our spouse without much consideration. There must have been strengths in our wife

that stole the deepest affections of our hearts. If so, then it is our attitude that needs to change.Colossians 3:13 says

, bear with one another and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. What does God desire for us? To forgive the wrongs of others just as God has forgiven us. Especially for husbands andwives

, forgiveness becomes even more important. When tempted not to forgive, look at God’s forgiveness toward His people. If God Himself forgives us, why should we not forgive our?

wives When we can forgive the mistakes of a wife

who asks for forgiveness, she will feel that we are a blessing to her.

3. A Husband Who Is Mature and Responsible Surely wives long for a husband who is mature and responsible. That means they need the figure of a husband

who is able to control himself and his emotions, and who is responsible for meeting the needs of his family members. A mature husband will be able and willing to lead his family through life’s storms. Challenges in life will not shake him and make him run away to hide. On the other hand, there are times when he is open and honest about his weaknesses. Yet a mature husband will rise up and try to face them in the right way. When our

wives see that steadfastness in us, they will feel that we are a blessing to them and their children. One form of our responsibility as husbands is striving to provide for the needs of our

wives and children.

1 Timothy 5:8 But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. As the verse above says, the role God has placed in us is to earn a living for our family. Perhaps because of certain circumstances, our

wives still need to work. But the question is, are we still faithfully carrying out our role as provider?
