Persevere Always in the Lord

God can work extraordinary things in the life of someone who perseveres in seeking Him, and He faithfully keeps waiting for us. This is Mutiara’s story, who came to know the community of Jesus’ disciples in 2014 and had spent some time learning the Bible. However, because she was not serious in studying the word and felt that her life was fine, her studies were interrupted several times.

Until a time in late September 2015, Mutiara felt that her life meant nothing. She had a disharmonious relationship with her parents and younger siblings, as well as problems with her ex-boyfriend and her studies.

At the lowest point of her life, Mutiara realized that she needed God and remembered several sisters who had never stopped loving her. In the midst of those life struggles, she instead discovered how good God had been to her all this time.

At last, Mutiara decided to return to seriously studying God’s word. She tried to repair and build good relationships with her parents and younger siblings, and also learned to ask forgiveness and forgive the people who had hurt her.

At the end of December 2015, after seeing how God had changed her way of life, character, and mindset, Mutiara made the decision to become a disciple of Jesus. The life change she showed within her family life also brought a good impact. Her parents, who at first did not know God, became more curious about the lives of Christians.

As time went by, Mutiara’s faith grew more and more, and she had a dream to help others know the truth of God’s word. She then invited her friends and family to know God. What Mutiara did bore fruit: two of them eventually became evangelistic disciples. Not only that, she also wanted to teach the Bible personally until the person she guided could become a disciple of Jesus.

Three years later, that desire had not yet been fulfilled, but Mutiara did not give up and continued doing her part as an expression of her gratitude to God. With faith that kept growing, she is now beginning to guide several people in her group.

In March and June 2019, God granted her dream. Two sisters whose lives Mutiara helped surrendered themselves to become disciples of Jesus. This became an extraordinary joy for her, and also joy for the Palangka Raya Congregation that witnessed the growth of Mutiara’s faith from year to year. All of it is because of God’s truly extraordinary work in her life. To God be the glory!
