Good News from the Palangka Raya Congregation - Murni

Enjoying the Fruit of Faithfulness
Faith and faithfulness to God can encourage a person to keep growing and become a blessing wherever they are placed. This is the experience of Murni, sister from the Pontianak Congregation who has been a disciple since 2008, during her college years. In 2015, she decided to help the evangelistic mission in Palangka Raya. For that reason, Murni was willing to leave her job, her comfortable life, and her closeness to family, to live in a foreign city she had never visited before.
Murni faced various challenges when she moved to Palangka Raya, from difficulty finding work to being unemployed for five months. She had to adjust to new people, and she also needed to keep explaining things to her parents, who asked her to come home because she still had not found a job.
However, Murni's faith and confidence in God's promises enabled her to keep being patient, faithful, praying, and fasting for every hope she carried. And God is indeed so good and faithful to His promises. One by one, Murni's prayers were answered at the right time.
As she entered her sixth month in Palangka Raya, Murni was accepted to work at a property company, and she continues in that work to this day. She even became one of her boss's trusted employees. Not only that, Murni's parents were also able to understand and accept her desire to settle in Palangka Raya.
Two years later, God answered Murni's prayer and hope to win lost souls. In 2017, Murni led two female students on campus to repentance. This continued in the following years: a number of university students and singles were won through her evangelism.
All those achievements did not make Murni stop growing in her knowledge of God, or in her efforts to help people who want to know Jesus. Murni continually learns from others, especially from the brothers and sisters from other cities on various occasions, such as regional events and the Nusantara conference.
In March 2020, God answered another of Murni's prayers, this time for a prospective life partner. Brother Bambang from Surabaya is very fortunate to have a sweetheart who is faithful to God. It is a great joy for us, the Palangka Raya Congregation, because we can see God's blessings poured out on those who are faithful and hope in Him. And Murni is one of our examples in waiting for God's promises. Amen!
