Walking with God Again

God does not look at how we have made mistakes, but at how we repent and return to the path that accords with His will. What is certain is that His plan for our lives is always the best. This is what brother Tema has felt in his life. Tema is very grateful because God loves him so much, even though he once had an unbelieving heart and chose to walk according to his own desires.
In March 1995, Tema and his wife made the decision to live as disciples of Jesus in the city of Medan. At that time both of them were so enthusiastic and joyful because they could live with direction according to God's word, and also have a spiritual family within the community of Jesus' disciples. Tema served in Sunday worship and took responsibility to become a spiritual mentor.
Sadly, no one can understand God's plans. In 2008, Tema's wife passed away due to kidney and heart disease. This left Tema deeply shaken and grieving. For several years he struggled to regain his zeal and give his best to God.
However, in 2012, Tema made the decision to leave the congregation because of his struggles regarding a life partner. He entered into a relationship with Murni, and the two decided to marry in Medan.
In 2014, Tema and Murni rejoiced over the arrival of their first child, Paul, in their little family. On the other hand, both of them felt an emptiness and uncertainty in their spiritual lives them. Tema longed to become a disciple of Jesus again, but he felt he was not yet ready.
A year later, Tema and his family returned to Nias Island. Even though he knew that there was a community of Jesus' disciples in Nias, Tema was still reluctant to return. At the same time, Tema and Murni's spiritual struggles became increasingly complicated. They lived their married life and guided Paul in their own way, while also moving from one place of worship to another.
In 2020, Tema made the decision to invite his wife and child to meet the Nias Congregation and study God's word. Praise God, in July 2020, Murni made the decision to become a disciple of Jesus. A month later, Tema also became a disciple of Jesus again. At present their family is enjoying fellowship within the congregation and has a life that is guided by God's word. To God be the glory!
