Good News from the Solo Congregation - Rocky

Rocky Dwi Prasetyo is the second of two siblings. For a long time, sin seemed like something ordinary to him and had no impact at all on Rocky's life. Because of this, Rocky felt that living in sin would not affect his character. He could still have a positive character, both toward those around him and in his relationship with God. But what Rocky believed was different from reality. Living in sin cannot help the growth of good character in God and instead tends to bring negative things he did not want in his life.

Praise God, He gave Rocky the opportunity to change his life from sin. The way God helped Rocky was so extraordinary and unexpected. At that time Rocky was still working in Surabaya, and one day Rocky was going with his friend to the submarine museum in Surabaya when suddenly it rained heavily. Rocky and his friend were forced to take shelter. And at that moment Rocky had the opportunity to get acquainted with one of the Surabaya congregation members. Rocky eventually became willing to study the Word of God together with the brothers in Surabaya. In the process of studying the Word of God, Rocky moved to Solo, and in Solo Rocky continued studying the Word of God with the brothers of the Solo congregation.

Challenge after challenge in the process of studying the Word of God was faced by Rocky with sincerity. The greatest challenge Rocky faced during his study of the Word of God was when he had to be open in telling about his sins. However, this did not make Rocky lose heart in becoming a disciple of Jesus. The changes in Rocky became more and more visible. Now he has become wiser in facing every challenge in his life. Finally, after 5 months of studying the Word of God, Rocky made the decision to become a disciple of Jesus on 7 October 2018. Rocky felt that merely studying the Word of God was not enough; there also had to be other changes in his life. Now, Rocky wants to have a positive impact on the other people around him. Rocky's victory also became good news and encouragement for the Solo congregation after such a long time of striving to win people to become disciples of Jesus.
