Good News from the Lampung Congregation - Daniel and Puspa

Daniel and Puspa are one of the married couples who were won to become disciples of Jesus on December 30, 2018. Both work at an insurance agency in Lampung, where a sister also works as an admin. They had been invited several times to church by this sister, but had not yet had the chance to come and see the community.

Daniel's parents, along with his older brother and sister-in-law, had already become disciples of Jesus in Surabaya. At one point, his father suggested that Daniel and Puspa look for a church of GKDI in Lampung. However, they thought all churches were the same: surely UUD (In the End, It's Money), since they had often encountered communities like that.

Even though there was “no response”, God had a beautiful plan for them. Last year, Daniel's father passed away. So the two of them went to Surabaya. Yet behind the news of sorrow, there was news of joy: Daniel and Puspa decided to study the Bible in Surabaya.

Why were they finally willing to study? It turned out that while in Surabaya, they found a community that cared deeply for their parents. People who were willing to be involved in helping with the arrangements for Daniel's father's funeral. Their perception that every church was “UUD” changed as well.

After a few weeks in Surabaya, Daniel and Puspa attended a marriage sharing by one of the married couples. The two then continued with Bible Study. A number of couples in Surabaya who helped with their study eventually became this couple's friends.

When the two of them returned to Lampung, they agreed to continue Bible Study there. They showed many changes in their lives after that. One supporting factor was Daniel's mother's move. His mother strongly supported and encouraged them both to live in repentance.

Before 2018 came to an end, Daniel and Puspa made the decision to become disciples of Jesus. And, when God has already chosen, wherever they go, they will surely meet disciples of Jesus and find Salvation from The Lord—just like the church theme last December.

To God be the glory!
