GOD IS SPIRIT

John 4:23-24, "But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father seeks such worshipers. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and Truth".

The Lord reveals Himself as Spirit, meaning everything about Him is not related to matter. The Lord is unseen, yet He can be felt in our lives. This passage teaches us that when we are still struggling with material things, still seeing our relationship with God in terms of material things, we do not understand at all the basic nature of God, who is Spirit. If we know God who is Spirit, then our lives will be marked by obedience and holiness, just as the nature of the Spirit of God is holy.

1 John 1:6-8, "If we say that we have fellowship with Him, yet walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, then we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us."

1 Peter 1:2, "... who have been chosen according to the plan of God, our Father, and sanctified by the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and the sprinkling of His blood. May grace and peace be yours in ever greater measure."

James 2:26, "For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead."

Philippians 3:3, "for we are the circumcision, who worship by the Spirit of God, glory in Christ Jesus, and put no confidence in outward things."
