Attributes of God: Day 27

Day 27

GOD IS FATHER

Isaiah 64:8, "Yet now, O LORD, You are our Father! We are the clay and You are the One who formed us, and we all are the work of Your hand"

One of the ways God communicates with humanity is by using real relationships among human beings. God wants to portray Himself to humanity as the relationship between a Father and a child. God’s compassion is described precisely as a father having compassion on his child (Psalm 103:13). Even in praying and asking of God, He wants us to call Him Father (Matthew 6:9).

Verses for Reflection:

Deuteronomy 32:6, "Is this how you repay the LORD, O foolish and unwise people? Is He not your Father, who created you, who made you and established you?"

Jeremiah 3:19, "I thought: Surely I would place you among My children and give you a pleasant land, a most beautiful inheritance among the nations. I thought you would call Me: My Father, and would not turn from following Me."

Matthew 6:26, "Look at the birds of the air: they do not sow or reap or gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth far more than they?"

Luke 12:29-31, "So do not keep worrying about what you will eat or what you will drink, and do not let your heart be troubled. For all these things are what the nations of the world seek after. But your Father knows that you need them. But seek His Kingdom, and all these things will be added to you as well."

Proverbs 3:11-12, "My son, do not reject the LORD’s discipline, and do not grow weary of His reproof. For the LORD instructs the one He loves, as a father does the son in whom he delights."

Ephesians 1:3, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who in Christ has bestowed on us every spiritual blessing in heaven."

Matthew 6:9, "Therefore pray like this: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name"
