Day 18

THE LORD THE SOURCE OF ALL COMFORT

2 Corinthians 1:3-4, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction ..."

In the suffering Paul experienced, he knew and felt the comfort of the Lord, because the Lord is the source of all comfort. Even though life is sometimes unfair, not what we hoped for, not going as it should, and we lose the people we love, comfort will always come from the Lord for those who believe in Him.

Verses for Reflection:

Micah 7:18, "Who is a God like You, who forgives sin and pardons the transgression of the remnant of His own possession; who does not stay angry forever, but delights in steadfast love?"

Psalm 86:5-15, "For You, O Lord, are good and ready to forgive, abounding in steadfast love to all who call on You. Give ear to my prayer, O LORD, and attend to the sound of my supplications. In the day of my trouble I call on You, for You answer me. There is none like You among the gods, O Lord, and there are no works like Yours. All the nations You have made shall come and bow down before You, O Lord, and shall glorify Your name. For You are great and do wondrous things; You alone are God. Teach me Your way, O LORD, that I may walk in Your truth; unite my heart to fear Your name. I will give thanks to You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, and I will glorify Your name forever; for Your steadfast love toward me is great, and You have delivered my soul from the lowest depths of the grave. O God, the arrogant rise up against me, and a band of violent men seeks my life, and they do not set You before them. But You, O Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger and abounding in love and faithfulness."

Romans 15:5-6, "May the God who is the source of perseverance and comfort grant you harmony with one another, according to Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ."
