Good News from the Semarang Congregation - Liana

On September 9, 2018, the Women's Ministry won another soul. She is Mrs. Lianawati, 61 years old, from a different religious background, and now she has joined that ministry .

This woman, affectionately known as Mrs. Liana, is a homemaker with two children. One of them, Grace, has already become a disciple of Jesus. Mrs. Liana had known the congregation for quite some time and had also joined Bible Study several times. However, at that time she had not yet fully set her heart on becoming a disciple of Jesus.

At one point, Mrs. Liana became ill and had to be treated in the ICU. Grace prayed that her mother would be given the opportunity to study the Bible and know Jesus. Grace's prayer was answered, and Mrs. Liana recovered. She shared the bitterness and disappointment in her heart, which Grace then responded to by inviting her to study the Bible.

With the help of Mrs. Kanti and the support of the Women's Ministry, Mrs. Liana joined Bible Study. Her biggest challenge during her study was overcoming anger. At times she forgot what she had already learned, but Grace patiently guided her. A number of her life problems were quite heavy, but Mrs. Liana faced them with prayer and by learning to forgive.

Mrs. Liana's life has now truly changed after she entered the community and learned about the church. The Women's Ministry met Mrs. Liana's need for the warmth of sisterhood, something she had never had before, even though they were not related by blood. Mrs. Liana's extended family also felt the change in her. She was able to be calmer when there was discomfort in life.

After being baptized, Mrs. Liana felt very happy. She was grateful, not only because she was still given the chance to live, but also because she could receive new life in Christ. Mrs. Liana hopes God will use her to reach lost souls. Amen.
