Good News from the Semarang Congregation - Gwen

Born into a Christian family, with parents (Christian-Julia) and an older sibling who had become a Disciple of Jesus, Gwen had already joined the ministry Children's Kingdom from an early age. As she entered her teen years, she felt a greater longing to live close to God.

Over the last three years, Gwen studied the Bible under the guidance of Laras, one of the mentors in Teens Ministry. During that time, there were seasons when she stopped because of school busyness and various other activities. This not only distanced her from the community of teens, but also caused her relationship with God to grow more distant.

As she learned about sin, Gwen realized how her actions made God sad, and she was strengthened even more to repent. She learned to draw closer to and be more open with her friends in teens, and to prioritize God in her life.

The people around Gwen also saw changes in her life. She became a joyful, friendly girl, easy to get along with, willing to share stories with her older sibling, and more confident.

On December 8, 2018, Gwen gave herself to be baptized. Gwen's family and the whole congregation rejoiced to welcome her victory in the Lord. Going forward, Gwen wants to keep pleasing God's heart by carrying out His commands, as well as caring for her surroundings and the other people around her. Amen.
