Our God Is a Caring God. Here's How to Know It

Honestly, I once found it hard to believe that God still cares. The uncertain state of the world and the economy has affected my finances, which keep declining. Day by day I felt more driven to become pessimistic.

But a verse awakened me. Romans 8:28 says, We know now that God is at work in all things to bring about good for those who love Him, namely for those who are called according to God's purpose.

Reading that verse, I realized that God is not standing still. He is at work and remains in control of what happens in the life I live.

The Lord Still Cares

Peduli-Gkdi-1

My mother-in-law's story reminds me that God truly cares.

After her husband died, my mother-in-law was left to raise her three children. She thought about working abroad while the children stayed in an orphanage. But that never happened. After returning from a labor broker, my mother-in-law cried as she imagined her children's future, and she gave up that plan.

It was not easy for her to provide for the children, but the Lord did not remain idle. By working hard, opening a small shop, and taking sewing jobs, my mother-in-law was able to see her children graduate from high school. “I only surrendered myself to the Lord. I did my part as best I could. The rest, the Lord would care and provide for us,” she recalled.

That story strengthens my conviction that God does care. How could it not? If by the goodness of God a widow and her three children could keep living, doesn't that mean God is indeed almighty?

If the Lord was able to help my mother-in-law and her children, surely He is able to help you and me.

The Lord's Love Does Not Change

You may have experienced a story like the one above. It cannot be denied that the life of a person is not always straight and smooth like a toll road. Even so, we must not give up in the difficulties of life. Whatever hardship we go through, the Lord still cares.

If you find it hard to trust the love and power of God, here are 3 things to reflect on.

1. Trust in the Lord's Plan

Peduli-Gkdi-2

Psalm 92:5 How great are Your works, O LORD, and how very deep are Your thoughts.

When life is struggling and feels heavy, we may doubt the love and care of God. We may ask whether the plan of the Lord really is the best. The verse above can remind us that the works and plans of the Lord are very great and deep.

When we go through severe struggles, we need to remember again the plan and presence of the Lord.Your life is not over yet, even if it is hard right now. There is still more of life that you will live. Trusting His plan will give you strength to get through the struggle.

The hardships of life that we are feeling right now,  will not change the plan of the Lord that will bring peace.

2. Trust that the Lord Is Good

Peduli-Gkdi-3

When problems keep coming, it is hard for me to see that the Lord is  good. Instead, I feel that the Lord is not good and not fair. At times I even ask: “Why is my life like this all the time? Are You really good, Lord?”

It is understandable if we feel that way. Yet we should not get trapped in those feelings. It is far better for us to look again at the goodness of the Lord in our lives

Nahum 1:7-8a The LORD is good; He is a refuge in times of trouble; He knows those who take refuge in Him and carries them through the flood....

I am sure there is much goodness from the Lord in your life . It is just that sometimes the eyes of our hearts seem closed. We are more focused on what the Lord has not yet done.

Let us reflect. How much has the Lord already done for you?  Remember the times when you were helped or supported. Remember too the times when the Lord comforted you when you felt you were at the lowest point in life . Remember again when the Lord helped you when all hope seemed lost.

When life seems hopeless, the Lord is the source of our hope. He will do something according to His perfect will.

3. Trust that God Is Still Working

Peduli-Gkdi-4

John 5:17, But He said to them: "My Father is working until now, and I also am working ."

When the difficulties of life strike, many doubts can arise within us. One of them is whether the Lord is still working to this day?

Reading the verse above, I am reminded that the Lord is still working to this day. He never slumbers or grows careless; He always watches over me and provides for me. From long ago until now, the Lord is still working - and He will keep working.

The same God is also working in your life . When you feel life is so heavy, remember again that God is not finished with you yet. One day, you will see His wonderful plan.

God Still Cares for Us

It is natural if we have doubts about whether God cares about the life we live. Yet we need to remember that the love of the Lord never changes even the slightest bit.

Through every season in life , He does not change. He is the God who cares. The question is, are we willing to care about His will?
