Campus' Good News & Event
Good News from the Malang Congregation - Hendy

God has many ways to bring new souls into His kingdom. As time goes by, all kinds of media can become bearers of the gospel, including social media. This is what Zeal Malang (Ministry Campus Malang) has been doing, faithfully sharing the word of God through various activities as well as social media apps.
That effort was met positively by people who were seeking God and church. Hendy, a student at Widyagama University (UWG) Malang, who became a Disciple on August 5, 2018, was one of them. Hendy is a leader, as well as one of the pioneers of the Christian or Catholic student fellowship on the UWG campus.
It began with a sense of confusion and weariness in ministry activity, and Hendy and the other leaders tried to find a solution to the challenges facing the campus fellowship. They needed a community that could help lead the fellowship to God.
That effort bore fruit when a friend introduced Hendy to Zeal through Instagram. His first meeting with a brother (Mampe) left Hendy amazed at the way God shapes fellowship. After attending several Zeal events, Hendy decided to study the Bible.
During the lessons, Hendy saw that his life was still far from God's will. Yet his curiosity, gentleness of heart, and obedience to God led Hendy to true repentance and sacrifice. Although he had some doubts at first, God's word kept setting his spirit on fire, especially during the 2018 Nusantara campus retreat in Batu, Malang. Hendy realized that in following God there cannot be many excuses. This will lead to disobedience, which indirectly means trifling with God.
Hendy went through challenge after challenge, armed with faith that God would enable him to break the chains of sin. Even though he was the only Disciple on campus, Hendy did not hesitate to evangelize his friends and bring Zeal Malang into the UWG campus fellowship. God's word gave him the joy of true ministry.
A difficult life did not make Hendy feel inferior, but instead made him stronger. He used his talent for cooking to help support the family economy by selling his dishes through several canteens and eateries. Whenever Hendy thought about giving up, the love of brotherhood in Zeal always sustained him.
His mother also saw the change in Hendy and supported his life as a Disciple. Now Hendy has a dream that his family and friends may also become followers of Christ.
