Dearest brothers & sisters in Christ,
‘A Living Sacrifice’ became GKDI’s theme throughout 2018. As written in Romans 12, because we understand God’s mercy, we want to offer our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God. Only the best, not just whatever will do.
It is very easy for us to become trapped in routine and religious obligations. We forget to whom and for what we worship. God desires a deep relationship with us, not merely empty worship.
Therefore, in the First Quarter we will be reminded again that we have a living God (A Living God). The hope is that in the Second Quarter, the deeper we know our God, the easier it will be for us to offer our bodies as a living sacrifice (A Living Sacrifice). Without a living faith (A Living Faith) and a living hope (A Living Hope), whatever we offer is surely nothing more than religious formality. We will learn these two things together in the last two Quarters.
Let it be that in this year of 2018, as one congregation, we may live in a way that is pleasing to our God. A life that shows how grateful we are. A life that offers only the best.
Have a Blessed 2018!
