Good News from the Lampung Congregation - Christin
Find the Way to Know God through Digital Ministry
God will open a way for everyone who longs to draw near to Him. Beginning with a longing in her heart for God and for a community that could help her grow closer to Him, Christin explored the online world in search of information. She then found a community of Jesus' disciples from Digital Ministry.
On July 16, 2019, through Digital Ministry, Christin was introduced to the sisters serving in the Lampung Congregation. However, she did not immediately respond to the invitation to meet because there was doubt in her heart about a new community. Christin took about two weeks to make up her mind. On August 4, 2019, she finally met with two sisters at a fast-food restaurant in Lampung.
After talking and learning more about Digital Ministry and the congregation in Lampung, Christin opened her heart to join Bible Study the following week. For six months she studied and built relationships with the disciples of Jesus. In turn, they helped Christin in prayer and in her quiet times. They visited her home, built closeness with her family, visited her sick father, and hang out together. During Lunar New Year in January 2020, Christin invited the singles and members of Campus Ministry to share a meal with her extended family.
Christin's trust in the congregation and her conviction about God grew week by week. However, there were a number of challenges she had to face before deciding to become a disciple of Jesus. Among them were her role as treasurer, singer, and worship leader in her former community. Yet Christin's longing to become a disciple moved her to step forward with stronger faith. After successfully settling everything, she joined the Lampung Congregation.
Let us pray for Christin, that she will continue to grow in the Kingdom of God, and that through her faith, her friends may also become disciples of Jesus. Thanks also to Digital Ministry which God used to introduce Christin to the community of Jesus' disciples in Lampung. To God be the glory!
