Good News from the Jayapura Congregation - Petronella

As 2016 came to a close, the singles ministry rejoiced with the addition of a sister who is not only a local daughter of the region but also has a talent for singing and a heart willing to serve the Lord.

Petronella was first invited indirectly by the Jayapura music team at the end of 2015. She came to several services because her friends, who were often involved in accompanying the music at church, invited her. This opportunity was of course used by the sisters to build a relationship and friendship with her, which then continued until she desired to study the Word of God more deeply.

Her life changed greatly after she studied the Bible. Out of her own conviction, Petronella resigned from her job, which she felt took too much of her time away from the Lord. Even though the salary and bonuses she received were quite large, she was willing to let that job go and remained eager to study the Word. Having grown up in a family with a different background, she faced her greatest fear when she wanted to make the decision to become a disciple of Jesus. She was worried that she would face many challenges and rejection. But the Lord worked beautifully in His time. Through the prayers and support of all the brothers and sisters, her family was able to accept Petronella's decision about her choice in life.

On December 18, 2016, Petronella made the decision to follow Jesus wholeheartedly and become part of the congregation in Jayapura. She dreams that her life can serve and be used by the Lord even more.
