Attributes of God: Day 5

Day 5

THE INVISIBLE GOD (INVISIBLE)

1 Timothy 1:17, ” Honor and glory forever and ever to the King of all ages, the eternal God, the invisible, the only God!”

Because God is Spirit, we cannot see Him with our human eyes. There are many appearances of God in the Bible, but in almost all of them no one was ever able to see God’s face, because God is Spirit and is invisible. Moses only saw His appearance in the form of a bush that was burning yet not consumed, Abraham may have heard through a voice or a dream, but no one saw God because God is invisible. The only time God revealed Himself so that He could be seen was through Jesus Christ. Instead, God reveals Himself through what He says, through the testimony of God’s actions. Because God is invisible, every disciple of Jesus should live in faith, and in the hope that one day we will meet Him face to face.

Verses for Reflection:

John 1:18, "No one has ever seen God; but the one and only Son, who is in the Father’s bosom, He has made Him known."

Colossians 1:15, "He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn, supreme over all creation"

John 1:14, "The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen His glory, the glory given to Him as the Father’s one and only Son, full of grace and truth."
