Day 24
THE LORD WHO BRINGS PEACE (YAHWEH SHALOM)
Job 25:2, Dominion and awe belong to Him, who establishes peace in His high places. One of God's attributes is that He brings peace; even in His mighty power, He establishes peace. In Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, Jesus declared that we will be called children of God when we bring peace in our lives.
Verses for Reflection:
Isaiah 57:19, "I will create praise on their lips. Peace, peace to those who are far off and to those who are near -- says the LORD -- and I will heal him!"
Matthew 5:9, "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God."
Colossians 1:20, "and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of Christ's cross."
Ephesians 2:16-17, and to reconcile both of them, in one body, to God through the cross, by which He put to death their hostility. He came and preached peace to you who were "far off" and peace to those who were "near".
2 Corinthians 5:18-21, "And all this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and entrusted to us the ministry of reconciliation. For God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting their trespasses against them. He has entrusted to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us; in Christ's name we plead with you: be reconciled to God. He who knew no sin He made to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God."
