GOD IS RIGHTEOUS

Psalm 145:17, "The LORD is righteous in all His ways and full of steadfast love in all His works"

Righteous means God always acts in accordance with what He commands, in accordance with what He promises, consistent with what He does. Deuteronomy 32:4 declares that the LORD is the rock who does not change in what He does; God is always right in what He does, always faithful to what He promises, and stands firm on what He has spoken. In Indonesian translation, the word righteous is often translated as the word adil. Strangely enough, we humans think that we can judge God for what God does in our lives or in the lives of others.

Psalm 119:137, "You are righteous, O LORD, and Your laws are right."

Psalm 97:2, "Clouds and thick darkness surround Him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne."

John 17:25, "O righteous Father, though the world does not know You, I know You, and these know that You have sent Me"

Psalm 36:7, "Your righteousness is like the mountains of God, Your judgments are like the great deep. Man and beast You save, O LORD."

Isaiah 5:16, "But the LORD of hosts will be exalted in His justice, and the holy God will show Himself holy in His righteousness."

Judges 5:11, "To the sound of singers at the watering places, there they recount the righteous acts of the LORD, His righteous acts toward His villagers in Israel. Then the people of the LORD went down to the gates."
