Before knowing God, Alfin looked for a sense of security in friendships and unhealthy social circles. Alfin was willing to do anything to be accepted in his circle of friends.

When Alfin began studying the Word of God through Bible Study, he realized that truth is the source of life, and that he needed to build a relationship with God. Even though many of Alfin's friends left him and mocked the changes he was making, that did not weaken his faith to share and preach the Word of God that had changed his life. Through his changed life, he also inspired many of his friends to study the Word of God.
